BB & Archery Range Officer Training

April 30 – Hurst office. May 28 – Hurst office.

The purpose of the class is to train Cub Scout BB & Archery instructors for Day Camps and weekend programs. Trainees agree to

serve as range officers at least 3 days at day camp, district or council events such as Cub Family Adventures, Fall Festival, Cub

Shootouts, Webelorees. For every 3 days an Instructor runs a range at day camp, district, & council events they get one Range Officer

Certificate from the camping registrar and can use the certificates to run BB and Archery programs at a Council camp for their Pack.

This class is sponsored by the Cub Scout Day Camp Committee and the Activities Committee.

at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch and Camp Tahuaya. Bring

outdoor fun and excitement to your Cub Scout summer!! Join other Cub Scouts for water battles, swimming, rowing,

canoeing, BB shooting, archery, rock climbing on our cool Mobile Climbing Wall, campfires, and much more. Tents

and dining hall meals provided.

Scavenger Hunt, Crafts, Campfire program, Bounce House, Chapel, dining hall meals, and More! Siblings welcome.

at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. More problem solving and map reading in the

woods! Two events in one: (1) individual competition and (2) group map hikes. Everyone can enter: Boy Scouts,

Venture Crew Members, Explorers, adults, families, Cub Scouts, ROTC units, and the public. Choose from 7 map

courses from beginner to expert. Co-sponsored by Longhorn Council and North Texas Orienteering Association.

at Worth Ranch. A weekend of fun activities, intriguing Scoutcraft demonstrations and outdoor

adventure for Webelos Scouts and their parents at Worth Ranch. Webelos may participate as individuals or with their

dens. Saturday supper is provided.

at SR2. A weekend of fun for the whole family! Rockets & Fun for your entire

Pack. Fee includes lunch, Estes Model Rockets, BB, Archery, Games, Supper, and Campfire. Siblings welcome.

(& Recert. Classes) at SR2. 10-hour class designed to certify ADULTS to lead Tower

climbing and rappelling activities for single units (This certification does NOT cover multi-unit activities, like

camporees). There is no class size limit, but pre-registration is required. Open to adults only. 8:00 a.m. to 6 PM.

at Camp Tahuaya. Fishing fun for the whole family! Includes lunch and awards.

Wall, and outdoor adventure for Webelos Scouts and their parents at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. Webelos may

at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. The largest Orienteering event in the USA! Sport Orienteering is the

Longhorn Council’s most popular event! It’s a fast and FUN orienteering competition at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch.

This is an event that teaches your boys to think while hiking in the woods. Come and compete or just come out and

hike! Map training is held all morning. Lunch in the Dining Hall is included. Family camping is permitted both Friday

and Saturday.

at Tahuaya. This event is designed to give new Tiger Cub Dens a fun activity with

other Tigers to start their year with. Have fun, play games, and make crafts in a wonderful outdoor setting.

. A fun-filled day of activities Cub Scout programs and activities. Cub Scout and Webelos

dens are invited to join us for outdoor fun and games. The annual Pushmobile Derby will be held at Fun Day.

at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch. Learn the basics of

camping skills with your Cub Scout and family. Make your family camping trips easier to plan and more enjoyable.

Parents, Cub Scouts, and family members can learn basic camping skills together. Lunch and Supper provided.

at SR2 & Tahuaya. Family Fun for your entire Pack. Hot Dog supper,

Festival Games, and cool Haunted Hayrides, PLUS BB Guns, Archery, Pumpkin carving, and Campfire. The whole

family can join the fun! .

Sport Orienteering is the Longhorn Council’s most popular event! Hike at your own speed: go fast

and compete, or just have fun and learn. SCORE-O and CUB-O teach your boys to think and read maps while hiking in

the woods. Map training is held all morning. Den teams get a SCORE-O map ½ hour before the race starts. Then you

plan your strategy to find the most flags and score the most points in just 2 ½ hours.

and cool Haunted Hayrides, PLUS BB Guns, Archery, and Pumpkin carving. The whole family can join the fun!

Boy Scouts of America. Course Director: Barnard,

 

5 Weekends in October. Commit to cover 1 time slot skulking around the

Longhorn Council's new-bigger-better haunted house, showing park patrons what real "Ghoul-Scouts" can do, and then

your entire group can enjoy Six Flags Over Texas. Oct. 1-3, Oct. 8-10, Oct. 15-17, Oct. 22-24, Oct. 29-31. Must be 14

years old or older.

Online reservations for weekend camping will now include

online fee payments for programs, equipment, and facilities requiring fees at Sid Richardson Scout Ranch, Worth

Ranch, Camp Tahuaya, Hills and Hollows, Camp Braley, and Camp Shuler.
