Camporee Committee needs
Hello TrailBlazers, Just a word to the district that we need some people to assist with the vision of next years Camporee. If you can spare a little time each month to go over ideas then I need you on the Camporee committee. Email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. District Awards EventIt was a truly inspiring event. We heard from a gentleman who recounted his life and the great role that being a scout played in it. We made Ryan aware of the fact that he was not in uniform without his block of wood. There were over 3 times the number of attendees at this years event compared to last years event. We have been challenged with the goal of doubling our number of attendees at next years event.Below are those that were awarded and recognized at the award ceremonies. Kimberly Burns was awarded the TB pin for the great job she did in the district. George C. Lutch was presented with his District Committee Key. Ed Balsley was presented with his District Commissioners Key. Eric and Ion Smith were presented with the prestigious James West award for their stewardship gift to scouting. Hugh Underwood and George C. Lutch were awarded the District Award of Merit for their work at the district level. Congratulations to all and a big thanks to all those that brought the great deserts and food as well as all the fantastic camaraderie, I find it an amazing experience every time I see any of you and get the opportunity to talk. Well there is a great app you can run on your smart phone called Cardio Trainer. This app is a great resource for those getting in shape as well as for scouters that want to map out routes for hikes and bike rides.
